Just when we thought we had seen the fastest ETs out of this BEAST……
A few months ago, we had a few requests from our US customers to bring the S2King to the states. At the time it did not seem feasible due to the amount of cash, time and energy required from many to accomplish such mission. In the meantime, the S2K was being updated with a new Kings Performance spec Turbo kit. As the car went under the knife, the team was planning its return to the usual Puerto Rican home tracks. Scheduling the assault on local rivals and the usual match races, Pepo and Josian had an urge to explore new horizons.
Meanwhile in the States…..
The talk of the town was “the event of the year”, the one we have all been waiting for, the “Big Kahuna”, MIR’s World Cup Finals… Imports vs Domestics. An epic drag event that has been bringing together the top door slammers in the world for years. The fastest import and domestic race cars in the world, 1 track, 3 days, MANO a MANO for the title of World Cup Champion. All major players had saved their precious machines for this one showdown. The ones that have been fortunate enough to have had attended this event in the past, know that this is the place were records fall year after year. The track preparation in this place is second to none. Literally, track workers run their bare hands through the track feeling for any foreign fluid and mark their findings with a special marker. Immediately, an army of track prepping vehicles follow scraping, burning, blowing and spraying the track making it a dream playground for problem kids with impractical toys like ourselves.
Information about this grand event started appearing in many desktops through the usual cybernetic channels including Pepo Besosa’s Facebook page. As he read up on the magnitude of this event, he could not help but salivate over the idea of strapping the S2King into a container and shipping it straight to the promise land. Immediately a phone call to Fernando at Kings Performance took place and a couple hours brainstorming session led to some damn good ideas on how to accomplish the trip. Suddenly, the dream was closer to becoming reality than ever before.
Then, hurricane Sandy decided to rain in our parade. Harsh winds packed with rain created some insane flooding left massive damage in the surrounding areas. Luckily it moved out of the area quickly allowing Jason and his crew to work on preparing the track for the best event of the year!
Phew! That almost put an abrupt end to all of our efforts.
The S2King arrived in Maryland Thursday before the event. The team were able to get a few practice runs in and quickly realized how well that track was hooking. The first couple of passes the car almost fell on its face but the team made a few adjustments and POW! 7.36 @ 189MPH! We put the car away in one piece and let it rest for the qualifying rounds the next morning. On Friday we had a few issues and ended up seated in the middle of the field. The team made a few more changes and got the car ready for round 3 Saturday morning. Saturday morning the S2King went 7.324 @ 192MPH and jumped all the way to the number 1 spot in the ladder. Round 4 that night, during the final round of qualifying, a Mustang went 7.320 and took us out of the number 1 spot (DAMN). The car was ready for eliminations in the 32 car field and was able to get through a few rounds but electronic issues kept the beast from launching correctly and lost the round.
It was a great experience for the team. The S2King is on its way home but you can count on it making a return next year for World Cup Finals and hopefully bring home the WIN!

Here is a little video of our 1st test session using the FTW Fuel on our Kings Performance Mitsubishi EVO8 shop car. We were able to achive impressive numbers & gains with the fuel which was the ONLY change done to the car. After tuning the car in our In House Mustang AWD Dyno, we saw 112 whp gains!!!
